When arriving
When you arrive Granholmen, you can leave the car in the parkin lot just outside the club and bring your WASZP near our premises for rigging.
If you have a RIB, you may ask us for assistance to use the crane for launching. DO NOT use the slip for launching RIB.
There are several alternatives to launch and retrieve coach & support boats/RIBs.
Granholmen - we have a crane to launch/retrieve RIBs. By usin slings at attachment points or with beams and slings under the boat. The crane will be operate in the morning and evening. Crane operator is Mr. Øystein Wiig - mobile: +4797566326.
Thorøya - Slipway is 5 minutes away from granholmen by car (or boat). Trailers can be parked on the gravel lot nearby. Launching needs booking. Please contact Mr. Øystein Wiig for booking.
Indre havn - Municipal slipway is 10 minutes away from Granholmen by car, and 20 minutes by boat.
Roabukta - Municipal slipway is 20 minutes away from Granholmen by car, and 5 minutes by boat.
There is a fenced area at our clubhouse at Granholmen that is reserved for the organisation. The area in front of the clubhouse can be used temporarily for rigging. All boats to be moved over to Seilerholmen and assigned area where they should stay during the event.
Welcome to Seilerholmen
The epicenter of the event.
We will provide shuttleboats for transport of people and equipment between Granholmen and Seilerholmen. It takes only a few minutes.
We may provide transportation from town to Seilerholmen in the morning, and back to town in the evening. This service is provided by means of boats and will only happen in the following schedule:
Departure town: 08:30
Departure Seilerholmen: 18:00
It takes about 20 minutes by boat from town to Seilerholmen.
During the event, all WASZPs to be parked in designated areas on the island.
You will find social areas, food and drink serving, changing rooms and toilet facilites at the island.
WASZP PARK
The WASZP Park is divided into 4 areas, and all WASZPs neeed to be parked on its designated area.
Area 1: DEN, NOR and SWE
Area 2: AUS, CAN, CRO, GBR, GER, NZL, POL, SLO, SUI and USA
Area 3: ESP, FRA, IRL, ITA and NED
Area 4: WASZP 6.9 and WASZP_X
Sailing in/out mainland
If sailing in/out of Granholmen (mainland), you may use floating docks for launching your WASZP, but be aware that there are several shallow areas around. You need to navigate carefully and use the marked dredged channel to avoid grounding.
Realtime bus departures
Bus line # 4 is the one that have bus stop at Granholmen. Just ask the bus driver to announce when arriving Granholmen.
There is a "MENY" supermarket at the bus stop.
Travel planner is a useful tool provided by the transportation company.
Accommodation
Scandic Park Hotel in Sandefjord has offered special rates to WASZP sailors.

The camping is located right next door to the sailing club, and a short walk to a big supermarket. The campsite itself is idyllic with beach, trees, flowers, a nice café and playground.
FINN is a Norwegian company and brand. FINN is part of Schibsted Nordic Marketplaces that includes Schibsted's marketplaces in the Nordic.
(It's like airbnb and amazon combined, but norwegian).

Official Guide for Sandefjord with updated information on hotels, accommodation, attractions, activities and cultural events. Sandefjord is located 120 km south of Oslo, with our local Airport Torp only 10 km outside the town centre.
Sandefjord is a traffic junction both nationally and internationally. Color Line, Torp Sandefjord Airport, VY and the highway E18 ensure good transport connections.
Public transportation is by bus. Recommend buying 7-days ticket that gives unlimited bus travel within 7 days from activation.
